Biography

Anne Vera Cruz is the Assistant Dean for Curriculum in Diversity, Inclusive Teaching, and Learning for The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and serves as the Director of Curricular Innovation and Student Achievement in the Office of Belonging, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. She received her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston College, with a focus on Educational Leadership in STEM education.

Dr. Vera Cruz has over a decade of experience in curriculum/program design and development, instructional coaching, and evaluation. She has served in diverse settings, including K-12, higher education, business, community organizations, and healthcare. Prior to joining Brown, Dr. Vera Cruz’s position was inaugurally endowed with $2.2 million for her work in creating sustainable educational structures that promote equity in STEM education.
